A day trip to one of the best nearest weekend destination from Kolkata within 70 KM. Deulti, widely known as a picnic spot at the Rupnarayan river bank and also famous for the residence of writer Sri Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay named as Sarat Chadra Kuthi which had been declared as museum by West Bengal govt. Apart from these spots we explored the 450 years old Madangopal Temple which was constructed during 17th Century nearby to Sarat Chandra Kuthi in Deulti. It took us for only 2 hours to reach Deulti around via Kolkata-Kharagpur highway.
After we were done with exploring all the locations at Deulti we headed towards another destination Garhchumuk, 32 Km away from Deulti. Garhchumuk situated at the connection point of river Hoogly and a branch of Damodar river. We reached at Garhchumuk river side within one hour, the road towards Garhchumuk, Google map suggested was awesome and we enjoyed the ride fully. From there we went to Deer Park but unfortunately the park was closed due to covid since April and we could not able to enter. There were 58 lock gates on the branch river of Damodar to control the flow of water, we visited that place too. We had a plan to cross the Hoogly river on boat from Garhchumuk to reach Burul, other side of the river from where our home is just 35 KM far away. But the jetty was not up to the mark and it was nearly impossible to take our Classic 350 on the boat using that jetty. So we dropped the plan and decided to return back to our home via Kharagpur-Kolkata highway. It took us around 1.5 hours to cover the distance of 48 KM from Garhchumuk to reach our home.
