Darjeeling MLA Neeraj Zimba reached out to the family of Mohabbat Sahabuddin, residents of Jeetal Line, Ward no 19, Darjeeling, and extended financial help to them.
Mohammed Sahabuddin, who repairs umbrella at Chowk Bazar for a living, had been facing a severe distress due to the lockdown. He wasn't even in a position to afford his wife's medicines that cost Rs. 500 for a week.
The family's situation was brought to Mr. Neeraj Zimba's knowledge by Binam Mukhia, Rita Tamang and Drona Gurung, following which he reached their residence, along with GNLF central committee secretary Rishi Thapa, to extend financial and moral support towards the family.
He suggested Mohammed Sahabbudin to use the money to start some kind of business to support his family. He also provided the family with Medicines for Sahabbudin's wife along with relief materials like food and clothes. He spent a long time with the family, whereby he assured all possible help to the family in the future as well and also offered them help in case Sahabbudin needed proper treatment for his wife.
Sahabbudin has expressed his deepest gratitudes towards MLA Neeraj Zimba and mentioned how no one else had come forward to support him till now except for him.
