Mapusa police arrested five persons on charges of attempt to murder of one Ashwin Alemao. Alvin Alemao, brother of the deceased had lodged a complaint stating that his brother was assaulted by the five accused on Saturday late night at around 1.30 am near a sluice gate. Ashwin was shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. Following his death the accused were charged with murder under section 302 of Indian Penal Code. On Wednesday the young boy was laid to rest. Here’s more.
