Government 'committed' to ensuring electric vehicles are a choice: Pitt

Resources Minister Keith Pitt says the Morrison government remains committed to ensuring people can make a choice about whether they buy electric cars.

"As the announcement said this morning, we're not forcing people to buy electric cars; if you want one, buy one," he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

"If you can afford one, if it suits your family needs and your lifestyle - well, knock yourself out.

"We do remain committed to making sure the people can just make a choice."
