Singapore focused on opening up well, rather than scaling up fast: S Iswaran

Singapore has said it is in talks with several countries for Vaccinated Travel Lanes, but it is focused on opening up well, rather than scaling up fast. Transport Minister S Iswaran said safeguarding public health is a top priority, even as the country seeks to restore connectivity with the rest of the world. Quotas have been set for the VTL scheme to manage the risk to public health. It will be increased to 4,000 when VTLs to Australia, Switzerland and South Korea start later in November. The current daily quota is 2,500 for the first 10 countries under the VTL.
