What I learned during this episode is that if someone of a different faith is having a holy war on you and the pope calls a crusade on that faith, that war becomes invalidated by the crusade.

Pretty wild stuff. Still surprised by things every day in this game.

This Campaign is all about the coast. We're trying to reform the Roman republic but with none of that inland process noise. We're coastal civilization through and through. So anytime we have the miss fortune of controlling inland areas, we must dispense with them as quickly as possible. That's the challenge of making a purely maritime society.
