It turns out that male honeybees are very limited in their purpose in life. They do not work or have any other purpose than mating with a queen. In the summertime they usually leave to drone congregation areas in order to wait for a queen, and if they're lucky mate with her. That's the reason that most people have never seen a male bee in their lives.
