Medical delivery drones have the potential to resolve persistent transportation challenges, ensuring reliable access to medicines in areas not currently or consistently reached by ground transportation. Increasingly, drones are being considered for delivery of emergency supplies and health products, such as vaccines, blood products and laboratory samples to/from these areas. Marut Drones and Public Health Foundation of India has designed and developed a unique modular temperature controlled box (patent pending) platform that can safely and reliably carry multiple medical payloads simultaneously to improve access to vaccines, lab samples and medical products in rural, remote, and hard-to-reach areas. In collaboration with Alpha Design Technologies - a sister concern of Adani Defence we will pilot test our concept as part of the Medicine from the Sky trials in Vikarabad District, Telangana.
Post trials we are planning to start regular year round drone based medical logistics services to the hundreds (if not thousands) of primary health centers and sub centers that are in rural, remote and hard to reach areas in collaboration with several state governments, the private sector (including start-ups) and other non-governmental organizations.
